every Rambus DRAM is basically a double-data-rate part. We transfer data on both edges of the clock and we were the first to do so.

this is the funniest thing i have ever read!!!!!
i am LOL!
intel has their suit going to stop via.
rmbs does not have to stop anyone...just tell them to apply the same royalty...maybe a tad higher for being sneaky and to cover legal costs. LOL! gotta love it.

can you imagine rambus cannot get samples of ddrdram with all of their industry contacts??? there has to be something wrong with ddrdram if you cannot get a sample to look at.

dan what is your take on this?

Uncle and Dave: the comment by Tate is a marvelous shot across the bow of the good ship DDRDRAM. Imagine the day when a viable sample of working, stable DDR is offered for testing by someone. BANG! The next day Rambus files for patent infringement. The question hangs in the air.....will the actual cost of DDRAM be HIGHER than Rambus if and when it can even be offered due to royalty payments due Rambus on the technology? Using its cash hoard Rambus pursues the tedious litigation process, stirring the waters as necessary to keep DDRAM from winning any design awards.

I love this kind of stuff!

Dave, "first to do so" may not be enough, were they granted a claim on transferring data on both edges of the clock? I have not read RMBS patents, and it is too big a task, but if someone is familiar with the RMBS's body of intellectual property, they could comment on this. Tate surely did not say that DDR DRAM infringes on any RMBS' patents.
