You sound as though you would be in favor of hunting all of these people down and executing them.

This is not a thread for liberal, socialist, "clintonistas" like yourself.

<<In Waco, it was obvious for months that the ATF and the FBI were honorably trying to rescue the innocent follows of that madman Koresh. Fortunately they were able to free many of the children before Koresh finally went off the deep end.>>

OK, Now I understand your usage of the English language. :

"Rescue" now means the same MURDER IN COLD BLOOD! If Koresh was such a clear and present danger why did those idiots not simply pick him up on his trips to town or outside the church grounds?

Mr. Barry, you are referring to the siege I assume, which dragged on for monthes.

My first question is, "how is using psychological warfare against a madman honorably trying to resecue the children?" They blared music at the compound for weeks, at a decibel equal to an airplane taking off.

This would drive anybody off the deep end, it is actually one of the prime methods of brain washing. Use the music as a negative reinforcer.

I don't think that field agents involved were maleficient against Koresh. What I do believe is that Reno, in her first Nazi tactic, really dropped the ball. It is simple psychology that you DO NOT put a tight noose on a group that perceives persecution. You allow outside contact, and encourage negotiation, and eventually they will calm down.

Whoever planned the raid and siege was simply a stupid. What gets my goat is that Reno and Bill used the incident to begin abusing the justice department and executive office in general. I am sure, as are many others, that the subsequent cover up of evidence was initiated by the justice department, if not the oval office.

I guess my other question is, "how dangerous are these fringe groups?"

To my mind, I can think of no American fringe groups that have made any attacks on the government. There was one individual, McVeigh, but his actions cannot be associated to a group any more than can the Unabombers. Could you please give me some examples of attacks by these fringe groups?

Remember:

"They came for the communists, and I did not speak up because I wasn't a communist;

They came for the socialists, and I did not speak up because I was not a socialist;

They came for the union leaders, and I did not speak up because I wasn't a union leader;

They came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak up for me."

This kind of thinking is the result of the passive watching of TV new mags and paper-reading: spoonfed news with a twist. Remember: the media is in the business of entertaining, not accurate reporting.

Come on, people! You can't tell me you are so damned lazy that you absolutely believe everything you read or hear without putting it to the test? If you can't be bothered to research an issue thoroughly, then why bother commenting on it?

I'll bet you used Cliff Notes in school.

Mr Barry how can you explain why the ATF did not simply walk up to David Koresh while following him on one of his many outings and arrest in him in a public place when he was all by himself??? Had they done this there would've been no slaughter of 80 innocent people. The county sheriff and the Texas Rangers wanted to know the answer to the same question. The storm-trooper approach used by the ATF demonstrated gross incompetence and a blatant attempt for publicity. They got their publicity and now we deserve to know the truth about this massacre.
