OFF TOPIC .... I can't get my mind on trading so far this week ..... upcoming funeral this afternoon has me in a rather depressed mood ... A lifelong fishing, hunting, and drinking (beer, whiskey and coffee)buddy of mine died at age 56 and will be buried today. The vague feeling of emptiness and a strong sense of loss is brought about by a realization that his house and or his office or both have been located very close to mine for nearly our entire lives. After college for a couple of years I worked for Sears and he was in the army .... other than that time we have lived and/or worked within four or five hundred feet of one another...... he was born 2 years after me and we grew up four houses apart ... When I wiped out the month of July and most of August with my illness and my wife being in the hospital ... he was steadily and rapidly getting worse from cancer... after only knowing he had the stuff for two months ... I walked up to see him ... the same distance of four houses away even tho they were different houses from our youth ... Thursday evening after he got home from the hospital .... he was sleeping and I didn't get to visit... then I went by Sunday and no one was home .... his wife had called the ambulance while I was in church and he died later in the day .... When I purchased my newest boat back in the spring we'd made plans to go on a trip to Caddo Lake in September ... us and our wives .... well, life goes on ... that walk you're going to take sounds like a good idea to me too .....
