A Little Something About USBs From Infoworld...

Given Infoworld's editorial focus, one should not be surprised that this is spun more toward corporate IT folks. But, still it IS interesting...

Re: SDMI...

If the SDMI, based on past history, holds true to form there will be an announcement after its most recent meeting either this upcoming Monday or Tuesday.

I did a search on their site a few moments ago and noted that they someone from the organization had posted (unavailable to the general public... all I could read was the header) some new Media Contact guidelines. Having issued such guidelines myself in the past, these things usually go out before a new round of press releases (or a single release) hits.

I've grown less sanguine about WAVX's possibilities vis a vis the SDMI. But, what the hell do I know? However, it all comes out, I do know that at SEVEN WAVX personnel and presented.. with most presentations (which could have been in person or via proposals) in March... one in April... and one in June... Kelly Luttrell, it turns out, is not only a folk singer, but a WAVX employee in California. Luttrell, William Chang, Kazmierczak, Michael Sprague, Steven Sprague, Derald Bartos, and Chris Mitsinikos all presented. I should add that according to other searches I did on the site, I did not find a member organization who had more personnel that had presented to the SDMI. I searched for IBM and WAVO and Reciprocal and Intertrust, etc. This, of and by itself, means NOTHING. It's just a research factoid.

I do know that the SDMI will be fielding a consumer education and awareness advertising campaign in, I believe, the next couple of months. Their stated goal is to have final recommendations in time for this Christmas shopping season.

Best Regards,
