Heinz, volume was relatively low. If compared to the actual rise it was very low. Just divide volume by the change in points and you will reveal interesting conclusion. (like equivolume indicators)

I thought the response to the employment report was just about as expected (although unwarranted, IMO). The only minor surprise was that I thought we'd be a bit stronger early with a modest tail-off into the close. I think we'll see some follow-through on Tuesday, but nothing has really changed. Although I wouldn't be surprised if the Japanese intervene over the long weekend. Anyone that thinks Friday's data indicates the economy is slowing is sorely mistaken. Unless all the data between now and 10/5 is much slower than we've recently seen (unlikely, IMO), the Fed will raise rates on the 5th.
