Unlikely that they would ever be a competitor. Since MSOs regions almost never overlap, and RR is a Time Warner driven ISP, few RR customers would appear in other MSO territories except maybe on a dial up basis.

IMO, Its more likely that RR and AHTM would combine operations than compete. A combination would be a real bonus: increases the brand name, economies of scale, IP peering etc. and a host of other great benefits.

RR is the low end of cable.
Really? Did you know that RR has more subscribers in the US than @home? (at least they did last time I saw the data)
