Kash,
RE:"The stock has been unusually strong considering the awfull Q3 numbers expected."...
I suspect there will be one last chance for the Intelabbees to buy AMD after the Q3 earnings and the Intel/Dell C-u-latermine is announced in late October. That will be the last false hope for Intel. Shortly after, AMD will up the ante to 750 and beyond. You see...the K7 will run at 1000 Mhz on .25u with a little seed path refinement and about 1400 MHz on .18u.

Kash,

<The stock has been unusually strong considering the awfull Q3 numbers expected.>

I see all the indicators turning up. Why do you say this? I would rather be pessimistic than optimistic about AMDs performance.

<And it certainly isn't that stupid K8 article in register causing 4M shares to trade in first 4 hrs of trading.>

Paul seems to have become a fan of Register lately - quoted it even for Merced! May be he was buying ;-)

<I'm glad for the move obviously but seems to me that somebody sure knows something.>

I am wondering if it is because of the recently reported K6 sales strength or if a new OEM is in the offing for Athlon.

Chuck

Kash - Re: "Have u heard anymore on the Investment rumor"

Nothing more - but nothing contradicting what I DID hear.

Isn't this just a sigh of relief as it becomes clear that the motherboard problem is ending and systems are showing up at retail?

This is where we were in early August before Raz's resignation and the motherboard news. AMD should be on a roll for awhile while the question becomes "will 820/840 and rambus/Coppermine ramp without problems?
