Jeff,

This isn't about agreeing or disagreeing. It's about taking the initiative to make it work. That's what the fun is all about, and why your idea is a great example. Modify the delivery channel. Develop a colorful presentation, make a poster, have some of the kids dress up like their favorite music stars, play CD's on a boombox (not too loud!),have a small table where people can sign up. Look different! Call attention to your volunteers first! Establish your own identity! Make and hand out flyers that list the reasons to buy and use the music card (ideas that came from the initial meeting). Stick the flyers in the customer's shopping bags. Have telephone numbers on the flyers so people will know who to call after they get home, unpack their groceries, and now have time to read and understand.

In my outline for the initial meeting with the kids script, I twice suggested asking the kids for their ideas and comments, writing them down, and then printing and redistributing the list to the kids. That information is gold!

I keep harping on leveraging human nature and some people may get bored with it. But the reality is when you get a group of people together in a room for a common purpose, 95% OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ALREADY EXISTS IN THE ROOM.

The sponsor, coordinator or whatever you want to call the person still has the responsibility to keep control of the meeting, but nearly all the answers are in the room. Just cultivate the process. Let all the creativity in the room blend together.

Jeff, we all know you are a creative thinker. Is it possible that there are a few million other people who may come into contact with this program who can also figure this out?

Sam, if you are reading this post, this is why I need a surf board. You can't be successful if you don't color outside the lines.

John

<<I might disagree with you on this one.>> Jeff, on the question of whether the MusicCard would be an impulse buy in front of a supermarket, I will defer to your professional expertise and experience. I personally couldn't sell plywood before a hurricane. You still have potential as a distributor IMO. Regards, Suzanne
