First of all, I thought you have to have a license to won a gun in NY. Second....I know the difference. What I am trying to find is what difference should it make. The idea is the same. I feel there should be one license. If you are a responsible adult and wish to own a gun you should be licensed and it should be registered. Just like you have to register your car and have a license to drive it. A car is a weapon like a gun. They both can kill if used recklessly. Ossnat
