All I can say is that it takes a very special kind of a*hole to bring the whole market down a notch or two. Ballmer just made the grade. He's a very BIG A*HOLE.
Here's hoping Linux, SUNW, Corel et al chop him down a few billion; then maybe he'll learn that part of being a company president is to enhance shareholder value, rather than kick shareholder's in the teeth.
BTW, Selling my MSFT. Buying SUNW with the proceeds. Who needs enemies when you've got guys like Ballmer on your team.

It may be non-event to you but I am dismayed by Ballmer's irresponsible comments. What a pompous ass! I've held MSFT stock for years but will be an ex-stockholder tomorrow. I now hope and pray the feds stick it to them!!

"a non event"

well not exactly. i think it is significant that he gave a stock price rather than an earnings warning. by now he must know how the quarter is shaping up so i would take it as a sign that earnings are on target or better.

regards

Mr. B is not a private citizen when it comes to comments about his own company. It is my opinion that his comments were indeed illegal. But, hey, I guess he has the billions to take care of ANY legal problems. They are all above it all. Never mind the peons that own the company.

John Dowd- Ballmer and Gates have said this before...

Can you please refer me at your convenience to instances where any officer of the company publicly makes comments about the stock price?

I have plenty of examples of Microsoft guiding analysts expectations by downplaying forward earnings, but I have never seen one example of any officer of Microsoft, or any public company, mentioning the stock price of their company is overvalued.

Thank you and I look forward to your response.

Jon :)
