Message #259 from TheTruth at Sep 25 1999 1:09PM

Keyboards DO write messages. Let me say that again. Keyboards DO write messages. The way it works is, a person, USING A Keyboard, composes his thoughts, hits the keys and writes that message. Hence, keyboards write messages.

It's true that people also write messages, but that doesn't change the fact that keyboards also write messages.

Keyboards just make it very easy to write messages. Furthermore, keyboards are designed for no other purpose than writing messages. (You can also write fiction with them, but that's a sick pastime).

To sum up, this "keyboards don't write messages" stuff is completely wrong. It's just stupid AAM propaganda intended to appeal to stupid people.

Regards,
Augustus

PS Your arguments are neither valid nor sound.

If you have read the thread, you already know that guns have uses other than killing people. That's TheTruth.
And killing wildlife (disregard the loaded adjective "innocent") is by no means a sick pastime. That too is TheTruth.
Thirdly, if someone threatens me with serious bodily harm - what would you have me do? My instinct is to reach for a concealed large-caliber handgun - and that will either dissuade my assailant or it will earn his death (or maiming). He earned it, and that once again is TheTruth.
And finally, you are obliquely suggesting a discontinuation of legal handgun ownership. To what purpose? Never ever forget that Adolf Hitler instituted gun control with the pretext being "the safety of the people". The real deal was of course the removal of a truly democratic obstacle to tyranny. If our politicians have the same level of power - and a gun ban would be a key to this - what would prevent them from ultimately accumulating total control over our lives and thoughts? Media? Newspapers? Net access? Not a blessed thing, and that is TheTruth.

Sure, guns kill people. But not all gun deaths are criminal in nature. Never Forget That. Guns (including concealed, carried, civil-owned, large-caliber handguns!) Save Lives, and that is TheTruth.

SO we should also ban rocks, and sling shots and sticks, and bows, and the list goes on, was about cars (i know this has been brought up before) but how many times have you heard of someone getting run down. until we have a society free of violence this arguement will always exsist.

::issues heavy sigh, like I use when talking to a slow child::

Truth as you choose to wrongly call yourself, Guns do not kill people. The damage done to the body by the transference of energy from a copper coated lead projectile which is fired from a gun at high velocity kills people.

Look your argument is academic. I own several guns. They have not killed anybody! Do I need to be on the lookout for them to rebel one night and go on a shooting spree? Will they suddenly burst out of their holsters and cases and run down the street and shot my neighbor or my children?

No it would take ill intentions on someones part to use my weapons in that manner. It would be a decision made by a lifeform with higher intelligence than the cold piece of steel and platic polymers my guns are made of. So it would be a conscience decision by a sentient being, a human being, MAN. Therefore, the decision to kill is made by MAN. How it is accomplished is usually the most expedient except for those of the psycopathic persuasion. A gun is very expedient, however if it is not available, there are plenty of ways. Are you going to go after all forms of items capable of being used to kill? Good Luck Quixote because you wil be busy.

Also the NRA is made of of millions of individuals who form a whole living and thinking group that is assured it is acting in the good fatih of the Constitution. The Gov't is blatantly against this document right now. So when you people like to say the NRA and conjure up images of some nameless faceless terrible institution, it is not so. It is simply me and my brothers and my neighbors and your neighbors banding together to fight a so called President who is pushing a personal agenda.

Truth,

I spent most of last night in the operating room with a beautiful little eight year old girl. She was sitting in the front seat of her father's car, without a seat belt. He turned around to look in the back seat and plowed into the rear of a school bus. The right lobe of her liver looked like ground meat. She was lucky to make it out of the operating room after five hours of surgery. She still will probably die.
We have seat belt laws, should her father be prosecuted and jailed? Should the car manufacturer be held liable?

respectfully

p.
