I thought I liked Reagan for his role in standing down the Soviets. After reading the Times article, I'm convinced he deserved my vote solely on the basis of being antidote to TOO-clever and condescending blowhards like Gore Vidal.

E, The reason that you will never hear Reagan in public again with his Alzheimers is that most people wouldn't be able to detect the difference from when he was president. He always was an airhead, who was just good at reading a script prepared by others.
