kash - <The article below states that the E family will offer 10-20% improvement in benchmarks over standard PIII's. This is very good for Intel.

It also says that initially 700Mhz will be max frequency with 733 later in quarter.

zdnet.com

As Athlons offer 5% to 45% improvement depending upon benchmark - I think this tends to confirm your statements that it will be a horserace.

However the frequency is lower than I would have anticipated.>

This is an article with no quoted sources. I'll have will wait for the official marks before I comment.

Kash. This is exactly the thing you accused me of lying about and spreading BS and FUD. Now you are jumping on board. I won't rub your face in it but I know you would have if the shoe were on the other foot.

On what benchmarks do this numbers hold is the real question.
Let's see what comes out of the Microprocessor forum - both from Intel and AMD.

<However the frequency is lower than I would have anticipated.>

If the 700MHz number is true that would be bad news for Intel.

Kash - RE: "The article below states that the E family will offer 10-20% improvement in benchmarks over standard PIII's."

When combined with CamiNo-Go, according to the article.

And with CamiNo-Go comes DRDRAM which comes with HIGH system costs.
