Ted - Approximately 11 months ago Intel exploded up to about 95 (Around the first week
in November) and I was thrilled. You can imagine my disappointment that it's now around
76 - oops times 2 because of that darned split so it's really around 152. Damn, what a
crummy year."...

The old split trickery trick eh' Burt. Split adjusted the highest Intel was the first week of Nov. 98 was 47.9375 on 11/6/98.
On 1/13/99 it hit a high of 72.375 so it's up less than 4 points in the last 9 months.

When I posted I only meant from 1/1/99 forward but I can understand you being excited about that split and wanting to show it off. But even with that split my calculations show that intc is up only 33% from 11/98 til now, better than AMD of course, but still in the bottom half of Nasdaq stocks. This is assuming, of course, that intc has stopped its free fall. In any case that's not too impressive an increase so you can understand why I expressed concern to Dan.

BTW when do you think intc will have another split, not including, of course, reverse splits? There is no truth to that rumor, is there?
