Saturn Re <<I wont be surprised if Intel brings out its 0.13micron process before Dresden begins yielding>>

LOL, I would be absolutely SHOCKED if this turns out to be the case. Volume 0.13 is about couple of years away.

Saturn V - I would be surprised if .13 micron arrives that early, but advancing Willamette is one of my major concerns re Athlon penetration and I would be surprised if it doesn't move forward. And it is true that at current cash burn rates, AMD could fold in less than a year. However, in both cases I think I can detect the approach of those events before they significantly impact the stock price. And I think that the breakup value of AMD's fabs and flash business alone is not far from its current market value. And suppose (I think this quite unlikely) AMD managed to bring in some recognized chip management talent, how do you think that would be received by the investment comm?
Perhaps tonight's tea leaves will shed some light.

Re: I wont be surprised if Intel brings out its 0.13 micron process before Dresden...

.13 requires copper. AMD is close to production in copper, Intel isn't. For AMD .13 will be a simple shrink, they're working out copper processing on .18 where they have a little elbow room. Intel will have to bring .13 and copper online at the same time.
