I suspect it's because during the last year, there have been virtually no serious Y2K problems that were forecast to occur on April 1, Jul 1, Aug 21, Sep 9 etc.

In addition, there have been many highly publicized system tests (Electricity, government services etc), that have all gone off without a hitch.

I think there are only a few zealots left who really believe that there will be serious problems next January, and for everyone else it's "business as usual".

(LACK OF THREAD ACTIVITY)

Those like me who took action and prepared are sitting back calmly wondering when the procrastinators are going to start a panic.
I gave up long ago of trying to warn people who thought if Y2K was serious threat that Clinton would warn them with a nationally televised speech. People would rather do nothing than actually think scenarios thru and make plans or spend a few hundred or thousand according to their budget. These people have a backup plan of going to a Red Cross or FEMA gymnasium with thousands of others or shelter in a tent waiting for a loaf of bread from a gov't truck.
Personally I would rather be able to suffer the least amount possible and have tried to prepare a modest amount within my budget.
100 gals bottled water plus a Kateyden water filter
hundreds of canned goods
lots of misc. supplies
If nothing happens I am out nothing I could not afford and if something does happen I can help others and still give my family a big advantage over the masses.

Tim A -

Anyone care to take a run at interpreting what this might mean?

80% (guesstimate) have made up their minds that Y2K is no big deal & the PR pieces speak the truth. The other 20% speak/believe from direct experience.

Basic question... ever participated on a software project that finished on time? Ever been on a big software project that was anywhere close?

But then again... maybe all those billions of dollars spent on hardware & software over the past 4 or 5 decades has just migrated over to MightySoft Windoz platforms...?
