If countries test now there is doodly squat we can do.

Yeah,,,we could have put a trade sanction on Pakistan , couldn't we?? That would have really showed em......either that or give them favored nation status I forget which......ask Bill.

What about just letting them test.....then we know who has what....otherwise they will just backpack them into the U.S. and test them OTJ. You think that treaty would have stopped anyone but the U.S.?

Some treaty is needed. It is NOT needed to be a political football which is EXACTLY WHAT CLINTONE WANTED....why do you refuse to see that? He could care less about you, he is legacy building ya know..

With the treaty could place monitoring stations through the country and get on-site inspections of suspicious events.

Now here's were you are wrong. This may explain why you thought it was a good idea.

Both Russia and China refused to allow monitoring stations. And if a suspicious event occurred, the treaty disallowed anyone from coming within 50 miles of the suspected site. And if someone cheated, and we even had proof then what? The Soviet Union routinely broke arms control treaties and there was nothing we could do about it short of going to war.

No, the more you know about this thing the worse it looks. I doubt the Democrats are going to make an issue of this. The last thing they want is for people to understand what was in this thing.

TP--From the first SALT treaty to today, a clause for "onsight" inspection has been included. In most cases American inspectors were just turned away and our government did absolutely nothing about it. This treaty is no different and offers us no safeguards. Clinton is just trying to pull another smoke and mirrors stunt to spice up a photo op. He has been an admirer of the communist ideal since he was in college and made a special trip to Moscow during the height of the cold war. He has openly stated that he hates the American military. Without a strong military and superior weapons arsenal, we will go the way of the Roman Empire and be totally crushed. The degradation of our society is already on a par with theirs, which puts us on the same path. TD
