I disagree. AMD are allowing Intel to play their card and then they will trump them. It is as simple as that. Intel are in the unfortunate position that whatever they announce on Monday (Cumine 800, not 766 as a few pointed out :) AMD will outbid it on Tuesday.

(And someone in AMD should sort out the marketing woman who can't keep her mouth shut during the poker game. Or is perhaps the "leak" about the readiness of an Athlon 750 in fact a double bluff for Intel's ears?)

Monday will be fun!

RE: <<<This market driven thing is pure smoke.

They simplly cannot keep on the MHZ race, at least, for the time-being.

No to release / unable to release 750 sucks, big time!>>>

Intc is the one that is scrambling, not AMD. Why devalue your 700 MHz production before it even gets to the market in quantity in order to jump ahead of the competition by 18 MHz? Do you think that makes good business sense?

Have you never noticed in a race, the leader will let someone else take over the lead for a while? That's a leader who is confident he can win or least that he has a very good shot at it.

I believe that's what we are seeing right now. AMD hasn't needed to blow smoke since the launch of Athlon and it doesn't need to now.

The current smoggy landscape has another source!!
