Charles& Thread,

Intels 733 release.

It seems to me that this was purely a BS release.

None of the vendors are shippping it today.

And only the 700 is available with the BX MB's and this is the fastest machine available from folks like cpq/dell.

And when one compares the AThlon 700 vs the Cumine 700 there is NO contest AMD wins hands down.

Surely rhe analysts can see thru this stunt of them announcing a speed grade with zero infastructure.

And the 840 systems will not be avilable for 2-3 months.

Perhaps it is too much to ask for but if AMD can ship 750/800s in a few weeks in 0.18 micron technology - it will go a long way to boosting credibility for AMD as the speed leader.

regards,

Kash

Chuck, <Does the above statement mean you think CuMine is going to scale with Athlon or not?>

Nah, my statement meant something else. But as for Coppermine scaling vs. Athlon, I personally feel that Coppermine will be able to keep up. This is based on sources I've heard from within Intel, including Process Boy, and also based on my gut feeling.

Anands review suggests it's a horse race...with the Athlon FPU the stronger of the two. The Cumine is an aging stallion on steroids where as the Athlon is still a young colt...
