US considered arming India with nukes' I too read the article. Even now, US is still leery of Chinese intentions. Remember, when India conducted the Pokhram tests, I said that there might have been an unexpressed understanding between US and India on India going nuclear. Pakistan is a wild card here. Pakistan does not figure in this configuration against China. Since pakistan also went nuclear, it has altered the conditions a little bit. MY belief is that China will be neutralized and rendered impotent by US and allies and will receive the same fate as Russia. The discontent in China among people will rise as they start enjoying the measly imperceptible changes taking place towards ultimate democracy. US, in my opinion is not going to let China to become the premier nation in terms of trade and technology. US will always stay several steps ahead of China to stay the present status and course. China knows this and that is why China has started badmouthing US about US hegemony, US accidental bombing Chinese Embassy in Belgrade etc India figures well in this configuration in association of Japan against China in containment.
