Hi, Richard, Yes, I saw that article, a/w/a saw Swift's shocked expression when he wrote his buddy, Jimbo earler today.

The thing that gets me is this: I WAS THE FIRST AGAIN ON THIS THREAD informing all who would listen way early 18 months ago that the IRS was only LETTING OUT FOR CONTRACT LAST OCTOBER the ASSESSMENT phase of their Y2K assignment.

Furthermore, I ALSO INFORMED THIS THREAD that when the previous IRS guy was canned and Rossitti took office, that several other Y2K impactful changes also occurred.

1) The new man, Rossitti IMMEDIATELY announced in press conference he was SCRAPPING the Y2K compliancy computer system based primarily upon scanned in/conversion to ASCII text input modality, that the IRS had been trying to implement for the previous SEVEN years and was going back to the barely-works-but-we-can-at-least-use-the-damn-thang computer system that was NOT y2k compliant in any way shape or form.

2) The new man, Rossitti IMMEDIATELY announced an increase in hiring to facilitate the return to the old system that was still pretty human intensive.

3) The new man, Rossitti IMMEDIATELY announced that returning to the
old computer system and scrapping the new would put a big dent in their budget, and the "shortfall" was going to come out of audits/auditors, basically bringing joy to both the hearts of the listeners to the evening news soundbytes (and CNBC's bits) as well as the reporters at the "new man sez" press conference where all this was announced.

What bugs the beeeegeeebers outta me, Richard is NOT that folks didn't listen to me when I told 'em about the IRS... (after all, what the fuck do I know the skeptics scoffed) ...and the resultant ramifications for massive interruption in gov't services, paychecks, refunds, bond interest payments, and social security checks issuance which are now in mortal jeapordy,...
but that darn near everyone has had access to the same information I shared here on GPM, if they would have just paid attention to what they were being told WHEN they heard it from the original press conference!!!!

Swifty caught on reeeeeal quick when he heard it from Koskinen's "too late" ilk party 11/8.

Most folks out there don't even know the Titanic ballroom band has shifted into a bump and grind version of "Nearer My God To Thee."

I'm glad Swifty caught on!
I'm glad YOU, RICHARD, have caught on.
I'm glad Peavey has caught on!

Hell, I'm glad I CAUGHT ON!

I'm just here to say that those who read Swifty's penned lines to Mack and your penned lines to me, and my penned response to you need to understand this:

THIS IS JUST ONE SYSTEM FAILURE. There is corroborating declarations in every bloody industry sector, and from extremely credible sources.
No one has to take my word, or your word, or Swifty's word.
Rossitti's word was good enough for me.

And I heard Greenspan verbally utter the "too late" message only in March/April this year. And that old bastard knew it and kept his mouth shut for the last 10 years, the sonofabitch!

Massive deaths from starvation would be the least cause of death if that bald, arrogant prick would have just let the farmers plant fence row to fence row, the steel companies make tin for canning, and put every man, woman and child able to work, TO WORK, just laying food by.

I am deeply, DEEPLY angry at the band playing on...even tho' me and mine are in one of the lifeboats and already safely out of reach of the lifeboat swamping sinking of the great technological ship called Computerization!

In Gott and INGOT we are trusting at my house!!!!

Ole "shakin' the head in massive incredulity" 49r
May a MERCIFUL GOD HELP US ALL!!!!
