Guys, sorry for all your troubles with Quicken. I have not signed up for their online services, so am not sure what they do and do not offer. Since I have worked with several of their products from way way back, including doing Payroll on DOS and much more recently QuickBooks, I am wondering if they have a "LOGOFF or EXIT" key when you are finished accessing their site. I know from hard experience that if one forgets to hit that key, it takes forever for the software to reset itself, if ever, and this is not just a glitch of Intuit's wares.

FWIW, I recently switched to trading with CyperTrader and cannot tell you how wonderful it is to download my day's transactions directly into Quicken2000 with each transaction showing up as a separate line with commissions broken out, etc. Just absolutely wonderful.

Oh, in case you need to set up different vendor numbers for Checkfree, i.e. 1234 for Telephone, 1235 for Electric, make sure you never, never change those numbers, even if you have a vendor you no longer use. I did that years ago via Manage Your Money and Checkfree and ROYALLY screwed things up. My $1000 mortgage went to pay the $16.00 water bill, etc. I almost had a stroke.

Good luck.

Wow, these horror stories are awful! I had brought my copy of Quicken 2000 (also supplied by Travellers for the Quicken Card download issue) with me on vacation to install on my laptop. I made backups out the wazoo of my file first, because I assumed (correctly, as it turns out) that the application would want to convert the Quicken99 file to a new format that would not be Q99 readable. (Fair warning to those who haven't upgraded yet! Use the File Operations: Copy option, NOT the Backup option - some of your online settings might get hosed when you Restore!)

The temporary PIN I got worked flawlessly, and I was able to change it to one of my liking immediately.

I was very relieved, to say the least. I also note that the temporary PIN I got was not the last 4 digits of my SSN, as Brooks' was.

As for Q2K, I like the interface changes, and it seems to run a bit faster than Q99 on the same machine.

Also, looks like CheckFree Classic is completely unavailable to new customers now, even those that use a financial intstitution "not on the list". It is the end of an era.
