VG: Look at earnings quality and visibility, R&D, and corporate management. This stock at this price compared to those you mention is a bird's nest on the ground as the country boys would say. JFD

Valley Girl - I am in the same boat as you are. SOmetimes, I wish I had sold my MSFT position 6 months ago, bought the Inets when they were bleeding and made a ton of money. Then again, I did not do that. I do have a feeling that the settlement is close at hand, very close. At a time when all the other stocks look overvalued, this is one puppy that could easily gain 50% in a very short time once the settlement is announced. People will then move out of the other overvalued stuff and into MSFT. Gates and Co. are a very competitive bunch and I think they must have seen the other techs go bonkers while theirs have stood still. Will they let that happen and miss out the Santa rally? Somehow i have difficulty believing that. So, hang on tight, this settlement is hopefully coming very very soon.

To make money as an active trader , you have to buy / sell buy/sell buy/sell...every day, and make sure you hit the bingo on every trading, and the % of chance you hit the bingo on every trading is (.5)**N, N = number of your tradings. Well, you can calculate the % of chance by your self. As a long term holder of growing stocks, such as , Microsoft, Csco, as the stocks go up steadily, consistently, your chance of loss is 50%, and from the previous performance and the current market for each of these company's products, we all know that the chance of wining for long term holders of these growing stocks is more than 70% !!!!Well, you just see AMZM, EBAY ..etc went up $3, $ 4 ...etc, but you did not remember the days when they went down $6, $10 ....etc.

Valley Girl: You're patience is about as strong
as mine. I played the msft summer earnings run and sold 99 1/2 the fri. before earnings. I have since daytraded msft and averaged over a point a day since july. If you want to buy and hold msft, do so, but why not make a second buyin and daytrade it some? The person who posted it's the number of winners you pick is completely wrong, it's more money management and cutting losses than anything else. I use a chatroom and when someone post msft, csco, or whatever at LOD, LOW OF DAY, I simply click my mouse and buy some.
