Lizzie, you need to try that argument (Asians benefit from being discriminated against!) on the appropriate attorneys. That's a beaut'. IMO, if you compel the Asian kids to attend school with X percentages of whites, blacks, hispanics, etc., you will find that the Asian kids continue to do their homework and leave it to the others to decide who becomes class president, class clown and homecoming king/queen. If your observations re. dominance of non-Asians in top industry positions are correct, it would seem these groups are doing quite well without quotas. BTW, there are lots of large Asian companies being run by...gasp...Asians

Lizzie, in fact almost every child who gets into Lowell comes with straight A's in eighth grade in honors classes and very high aptitude and achievement test scores. PSATs are not taken until 10th grade, and have no bearing on admission at all. I believe about a third of Lowell students are mentally gifted and in the state GATE program as well. In the last few years there has been some VERY small allowance made for black and Latino students and those who come from a background of poverty, but these children are all made to attend summer school to catch up. So the differences between Asian and other students at Lowell is really miniscule.
