Eric, nice response.
Pala, you are missing my point.
the fact that the report was written in june only makes my point stronger.
market penetration currently is about 8%(25mm tvs shipped annually vs. 2mm with guide at end of 99). in june even if mkt penetration was 5%, that 5% accounted for half G's revenue, the point being that with every % point increase in mkt penetration we should see a large % increase in G's revenues and thus earnings. then add ecommerce revenue on top of that. get the picture?

<<The Street.com article, the company had $400k in advertising revenue in 1Q 2000 alone. While this is still a small amount of revenue - about 1% of the company's quarterly revenue >>>

Eric I'm getting really confused here, how can earnings for a Y2K quarter be hyped as an accomplished fact. I would not be comfortable making investment decisions based on ANY information from The Street.com or CNBS for that matter.

Does the above 1Q 2000 crystal ball include TVGIA?

If not what does it include? We don't know. Which is my entire point.

GMST may be investment of a lifetime, but it will be awhile before we know, stock price tells us nothing in terms of Gorilla Game metrics.

Enjoy
Doug

according to [Gemstar's] 10K, they had about $150,000 in advertising revenue in FY99. According to a recent The Street.com article, the company had $400k in advertising revenue in 1Q 2000 alone.

That reminds me of AOL a few years ago when they were beginning to get the first slivers of the online advertising pie. I didn't have much of a visionary approach to investing then. I still don't have enough of one now, but it's getting better. This kind of sequential increase is very exciting even though it is in the embryonic stage.
