Barry, When I was there, Chicago went from -125 one cold Feb day...

Holy Batman, I hope some of that was wind chill. I've been in -35F in NH. Fortunately, no wind, nothing moving. Snow actually gets gritty. I'll take SF Bay Area while we're voting (my better half loves LA too).

OT RE: "When I was there, Chicago went from -125"

Hi Barry,

I experienced -80 windchill once. I remember one of my eyes started freezing shut. It was amazing. Of course, once my eye lids started freezing shut, my eye responded to this by watering up, which of course made the problem even worse. I didn't think the cold was that big of a deal, until my eye lids started freezing shut. It's hard to walk without seeing. I tried not to blink with the other eye. I must have made an interesting sight (for those whose eyes weren't frozen shut).

Barry, <When I was there, Chicago went from -125 one cold Feb day >

Nice weather discussion is going here.

Do you realize what does -87 deg.C mean? I think
you are confusing temperatures with Intel stock
price :)

The lowest ever winter temperature in Chicago was
-27 F (= -33C).
