General Newport question:

I am going through the files to begin saving data on a floppy and I noticed some letters next to each stock.
What is:
1. sav
2. npd
3. hst
4. npt?

I also noted that there were files of stocks that I had deleted a few weeks ago. Why are they there if I deleted them? Is it OK to delete these without any fallout?

Any files I should definitely not delete?

TIA

HiTech
