Chetman, Great post re short term price movement possibilities of msft.Congrats on your cmgi calls also.I am also watching the near term for msft especially the next few weeks run up to earnings.I think our bottom was on fri.Isnt it normal for msft to have a pullback just after a big breakout like we just had?I think 120 by earnings is doable where I"ll be unloading some april 90s.After that its anybodys guess short term.for the rest of 2000 the price targets could be 130 to 160?I think strong fundamentals and earnings upgrades may do the trick along with positive resolution with the doj.Ive been long msft since 1995 and plan to add more via 01 and 02 leaps purchased when msft was at 80. Good luck Tom

Thank you for your comment.
I think the DOJ thing has already been built into the stock price , and it is now a pure fundamental and New product play. Don;t you think it is a Microsoft trading pattern, i.e break out and retreat back for 5% to 10% and consolidate and break out again ? Did you see that trading pattern lately ?

If the DOJ think is a real threat, Microsoft should either not move up at all or just have been down to the drain. Look at MO !!!!

To me, I think the trading pattern of Microsoft gave a lot of opportunity for long term Microsoft investors to build up the base at lower price. To accumulate 50k shares at a lower price during the consolidation and shoot up for $10 is better than stock shoot up to the sky in two days, but you have only 1000 shares. So, the trading pattern gave real investors a lot opportunity to accumulate at low price base.

Chetman: Can't imagine why MSFT would delay W2K until trial is over or deal reached. I think that is wishful thinking from those wrong thinkers who feel MSFT should take browser out of OS to appease DOJ. XML is going to be a key feature in W2K. JFD
