Mike, thanks for the excellent analysis on Intel. IMO No analyst on the street will bad mouth Intel -- the stock is off limits -g- Maintaining CONfidence in the new pair o' dimes is too important to bad mouth Intel. mike

conceptually i agree 110 %.

except :
-a bear being heard ? when was the last time ? they get shouted down every time
-all pe multiples are exploding. someone noted three good companies but presented a chart showing expansion of pe's on them, 2 were ge and xom, i forget the third. if these can have (bloated to us) pe's in the thirties and fourties, then certainly the rewkeyser boys will say intc is still cheap
-the bgr's of the world are still buying index funds and intc is a big hitter there.
-the rationales out there for rising prices are getting sillier, not just here but across the board, if the bulls ignore what is nearly a 2 % increase in the long bond from its bottom in the summer of 1998, what do we expect them to do when some thinking is involved.

having said all that , conceptually i agree its certainly prudent to buy poots after a big run-up, so :

ooc (out of curiousity) which months and strikes for the last third ?

thanks ...

ike

MB..Re..<<Somebody will look at this report and be heard.>> Tice was heard. It won't take much either. Just look at what happened last night when $0.61 was initially released. The rug is not nailed down for sure. Also, would it be too cynical to suspect the first release ($0.61) was a trial balloon that failed miserably?

To All, I had a very interesting time at the track last night. I walked in and, lo and behold, right next to my seats, was a party for BMC Software. I have recently made a huge profit from putting the stock and am well known at the co. I expected some recriminations and name calling, but the folks from BMCS behaved like decent folks and we got on fine. In fact, I even helped a couple with their bets. The bad news was that I didn't cash a ticket until the 6th race, at which time a big trifecta made my entire evening and a big Exacta in the 10th was the frosting on the cake. Sadly, the BMCS folks stopped following my lead after 5 losers in a row, and I can't say as I blame them. <g>

Anyway, they seemed to be of the opinion that the co. did everything right with the right products and it isn't their fault that computers stopped selling. With which I agree.

Class co., though I still wouldn't buy the stock yet. <g>
