Mr. BSL, how did you get the Barron's subscription? I see no reference at the impossibly sluggish msdw site and have received no communication from the company.

>>BTW, Discover, I mean MSDW, just signed me up for a free year on Barrons on line.<<

You must be a preferred customer then. I received no such gesture so they must want me out. That's OK with me. I'm not a big time trader, but rather the buy and hold type.

My wife and my IRA's are now in the process of being moved out as is. We're in the blackout period (can't trade), so I'm hoping for a quick transition. I don't plan on making any trades in the near term, but it is a bit nerve racking to know you cannot for the transition. Our new brokerage received the transfer papers on 1/6 and our MSDW accounts closed on 1/13. I'll report back when the holdings show up in our new brokerage account.

Anybody get an extension on the grand fathered (preferred) trading rates that were to end on April 1?

On March 7, MSDW sent me an email stating "Because you are one of our most valued customers, we are extending preferred pricing* on this account through September 30, 2000".

Then yesterday they sent me an email stating "According to our records as of February 15, 2000, your account(s)
referenced below did not meet these criteria" to qualify for the extension. In other words, I'm SOL unless I return some assets ($$$$$) to meet the criteria.

I had already stopped trading with MSDW and was in the process of transferring assets out. When they informed me of the extension this week, I began trading again with what was still in the account. Now I don't know what to think!

I just sent them an email for clarification.
