Assuming that YHOO would retain the same preferred BB portal status as Excite

Whose?

what is the future discounted earnings stream for a 3 year pact with a company that will give you access to only BB customers in a rapidly growing BB market.

Why does YHOO need a pact to deliver what they would get anyway?

All of your customers are automatically directed to the content suitable for their network.

What value is there in this? This is default now.

Add to that the intrinsic value of the Excite, and you have the value of such a transaction.

Excide and YHOO would cannibalize each other. There is a conflict there. So the value of such a transaction would be negative.

Is there a preferred portal status for Excite? I have @Home in my home (it's a great product, by the way), but the default home screen (which I disabled) just has a bunch of links to something called OSO.Com, a second rate local portal which is operated by Cox in my market. This is not doing ATHM (or Excite) any favors, in my opinion.
