Long time lurker. Dave Wanst., or "Wanny", as known in Chicago is pretty well hated up here, and the majority of Chicago's sports contingency wants to see this guy fail. Hopefully for the Dolphins, he can learn from his mistakes. When Dave was coaching the Bears, he drafted players who were great athletes, you know fast and agile, but as the years went by, five long ones, some of his great selections were not instinctual football players, It's great to have a defensive lineman beat his block, but he has to make the tackle. What really upset me about Dave was the fact he never created a great defense for the Bears, this was supposed to be his bread and butter. He had a very passive defense. He always blamed it on young and inexperienced players. After a while he became a big joke, and it was quite entertaining in his final years.
Anyways, this is a great thread, everybody keep up the great work.

trade on

i would rather not make the playoffs then to have Ryan Leaf on our team..

jj did make a lot of mistakes...his plan didn't work offensively with marino's qb style...and the players these days are a different breed....

dw may have success because we only have a few holes to fill.

i personally like jj because i too am a prick. a player to play hard...f him... cut him...goodbye...contracts need to be revised to allow teams to release players that don't comply or meet above average expectations without cap penalties...jmo...if that can be worked out the nfl will shape up...f agents and their bs...f all the me players of today...f the keyshawn johnsons, ryan leafs, dion sanders, buckleys, etc..etc...you get paid to perform...to win...to execute....jj could have had a lot of success if he traded marino for a 2nd round pick year 1...no team will ever be able to run the ball with marino(age 38) at the helm...too set in his ways and cannot perform the way he used to...

and f westbrook, etc..etc..etc...

i'll be watching the draft with optimism..take it easy bud and don't ride me for knocking dano...jmo....
