nihil,

<Our government rewards business that are incompetent and lose money, and tax the ones who make profits.>

Very, very well put. A truly said irony.

To be fair a little, tax loss carryforwards do not reward failure, they reward risk. Take a few losses up front, that can offset gains in the future. I am not sure what the rules are in the US, in Canada the time frame is 7 years from the time the losses were incurred.

I thought I should stress this even though you are most likely fully aware of this, lest some left wing types take hold of this issue.

Nihil, Re: AMD has cumulative tax loss carryforwards that offset any earnings they might chance to make from time to time. Intel hasn't
made a loss in years and has zero tax loss carryforwards. Our government rewards businesses that are incompetent and
lose money, and tax the ones who make profits.

Not unlike the welfare system? I'd rather have to contribute than have to receive, personally.
