Kash, I agree, AMD just needs to take off on their own and leave the cat and mouse stuff in the dust. Intel would be even more of a laughing stock if they tried to match a 1 gig Athlon with a P-III announcement. Only trouble is, does AMD have a 1 gig Athlon they can ship in quantity right now. Does anyone have Jerrys e-mail address? Jim Other thing I'm wondering is how many Athlons can AMD make this qtr from FAB 25/ without Dresden?

Kash, <I keep hearing this crap that AMD could ship 1Ghz Athlons if they wanted - even if only in modest quantities. ... If so we are seeing the BIGGEST MARKETING BLUNDER of all time.> Either that, or the rumors you are hearing really is crap. I've always said that AMD really can't afford to play a stupid cat-n-mouse game. That's why I think they're having a tougher time scaling Athlon up the frequency scale than many people here realize.
