so 23 million is 20% of PALM. that means 92 million (the other 80%) get distributed to 340 million outstanding? so it's about a 1:4 ratio of 1 share of PALM for 4 shares COMS.

anyone agree?

>>Of that, 530 million shares will be held by 3Com, the filing said. The company plans to divest of its holdings within six months by distributing the
shares to 3Com shareholders.

PALM potentially can contribute $48-$144 to 3Com stock price.

Base on the 530 million of PALM shares that 3Com will hold after ipo and 350 million of 3Com shares outstanding today. The spin-off ratio will be about 1.5 PALM shares to every 3Com share.

Assuming that PALM is priced at $16 and, after ipo, it appreciate anywhere from 200% to 600%, then each PALM share will be anywhere from $32 to $96. At 1.5 ratio, PALM will add $48 to $144 to 3Com share.

Someone pls check my math.
