I bet one could speculate and conclude that this indicates the death of DEAO.com and their impressive portal. You know the one that was supposed to revolutionalize how one surfed the web. We've been studying how web content is viewed and have found out that the typical portal approach to information disbursement is simply not very effective. Users are often overwhelmed by the quantity of information that they are presented with. Our studies have found that users mentally erase much of the information on their screen in an effort to simply the content.” He went on to say, With DEAO.com we are taking a completely different approach by focusing on individual pieces of information. Beta testing for DEAO.com will begin in the third quarter of 1999. Marketing efforts, including advertising and sales, are expected to begin in June 1999.
