Mike, I somehow feel kinda negligent, but not remembering either. Went through all my news services but can only go back 30 stories on DJ without paying. I found this link from trenzich... Message 12532434 ...honestly, I have been very confident in this investment and haven't always been as on top of the news as I should be. My concern has been mainly they meet their numbers for h2 '99 to bury the credibility issue for good...have been confident in that since July. At these levels I will start watching much closer though. Please keep us apprised of your thoughts. regards, sf

Mike, you might be referring to my interpretation of the Alcatel 1998 annual report posted here in November or so. The report made a pretty clearly stated goal of improving the relationship with US investors. It came as a result of the poor communications in September '98 and some sharp criticism from Merrill Lynch analysts. I still have the 1998 annual report on file. If you have anything more specific, I might be able to look it up for you and try to add to this. Regards, Dave Chanoux
