Hi Scott: Funny you bring up M&I. I think that's the bank where I opened my first checking account. Remember when they used to give away free toasters just for opening an account? NML is a good albeit 'quiet company'. I have a few cousins in Milw who have worked there for years. They are a big player. Didn't they go public or are considering it? Milwaukee seems to go through these rounds of consolidations every once in a while. First Wisconsin, then Marine bank, etc. I remember when most banks were local, on the corner kinds of things back home. My Mom's only job was working at the Holton St. Bank way back in the 30's.
