I'm amazed with all of the sudden hatred for DELL management. I find it interesting that people are forming a lynch mob to fire Michael (as if that's even going to happen) over stock related matters. Give it a break. He has a company to run.

RE: .You must agree that there are significant PERCEPTION issues which are impeding the appreciation of DELL's stock price...You must also agree that given the recent euphoria of the Nasdaq, DELL has dramatically under-performed...Isn't there some level of accountability that MSD must take in terms of addressing these issues, or is shareholder confidence and loyalty a concern of the past?...

Hey, I guess if I had a share of DELL for every one that was hesitant to believe in what the DELL model can do I'd really be rich....Understandably, folks are not happy finding DELL stalled here with other stocks flying or climbing...Me happy about that? Must we actually admit that this flat period makes anyone long smile? Surely the arguments of Jim Kelly and Chuzzlewit must have sunk in over this past year...DELL is without a doubt a company where the perception on the street is anything but "in"....IMO the PC stocks are out of favor (other than the recent run in GTW due IMO to the fact that they were direct and the venture with AOL).....What I believe most folks don't understand is that this PC game is over...Sure there is still some competition here and there for some areas...sure there are those that would argue it isn't over...Sure DELL will lose contracts for some reasons...But, I see the going forward model of DELL as unstoppable...DELL will continue to drive a frictionless model down the throats of the competition....A continually decreasing cost structure that will increasingly place pressure on all the competition...Daily I tell myself that management goals are centered on stealing market share and further consolidating the market...I still see these goals being attained...Whether or not the "street" finds these results obvious is not up to me...I believe we will soon discover that the PC industry will be on fire once again...And, when this occurs..DELL will be rewarded for the advantages it has earned ..And, don't think for one moment that DELL is not working out of box at a torrid pace....I've heard that many exciting and bold ventures loom for DELL...Shareholders may be happier sooner than most think....

BTW....Have you done the math on 12 million units this year...vs. 47 million units by 2004? And a conservative number at that? Do you have an understanding of why DELL owns half of Round Rock now? With further plans to build and build and build? Nashville...Bigger than RR one day?? Brazil?? China?? ("our number #2 market by 2003" mtopher) The recent doubling and then some in Limerick Ireland?? Australia?? The PC isn't going away...and the add-ons will only accentuate the desire for more...Michael's visions have proven to be one thing...Inaccurately low...

Best, Kemble
