It's a myth that just because INTC makes it, it must be cheaper. Their manufacturing costs aren't that much different than anyone elses.

My guess is that the major computer makers are taking an interest in Itanium, but INTC &HWP themselves admitted that it isn't going to have the performance they had hoped for. Just how much of an endorsement is that????

Intel is good, but do you really think they're significantly better than IBM, Texas Instruments, LSI Logic, Samsung, Micron, and other semi makers?
