Thanks, RTS

Thread- In listening to Nortel's Q4 CC, I was surprised to hear that they too (check out post this is linked to) are growing their access business 100% yr-yr. Their access business is much larger in absolute dollars than is Cisco's. I wish I picked up the exact amount, but I missed it.

Although optics currently grabs all the headlines, this 100% growth business is a significant indicator out of Cisco and Nortel that the Last Mile is definitely the sweet spot of telecom investing.

BTW I also picked up another fun fact to know and tell. As I mentioned before, there are estimated to be 200,000,000 local loops installed in North America. Well I just picked up two figures for the world. They averaged out to be 900,000,000 local loops worldwide today! That's a lot of copper that's not going away anytime soon. And it's all available to upgrade to broadband services. -MikeM(From Florida)
