If this is true (big IF) then it will be put up or shut up time for AMD. The claim has been that AMD is holding back it's fastest parts so as to embarrass Intel by trumping anything Intel can demo. Keep in mind, this is very early Willamette silicon on a process that is not yet mature.

I just saw the news. Damn!, That be one SLICK Willy!

But a News.com article said something like only hundreds of thousands this year. I wonder if that is accurate.

Time for AMD to get paranoid, they have MHz, err, GHz competition now!
