Another way of looking at the differences between XTO and OEI is that OEI is more aggressive in building reserves and growing the company (exploration).

XTO is mostly a production company with older gas fields. The are doing some in field drilling but this is mostly to staunch depletion. XTO is printing money but it will not last forever. After spending some time last night going thru the numbers, I'm inclined to say that TMR is a closer peer to XTO than OEI.

Longer term, OEI is the place to be. My thoughts yesterday were from a short term trading stand point.

BTW: I purchased back my entire position of OEI at $9 13/16. Not a bad one day trade.
