Did Lev mention his intentions to sell 950K shares?

Of course, I'm probably misreading this...if not, maybe I can get some more shares on any dip...

Any insights and corrections much appreciated.

Thanks to all for the SHM news, too...

Hello everyone,
I am still in Henderson to return home today. It was wonderful to at last meet so many I have been in contact with in recent years.

I have been carrying the burden of having recommended Valence to friends and relatives and having them worry about the outcome. I called many in recent months to encourage them to resist the temptation to take a profit too early. For some I was too late or ignored because I had also suggested they buy too early.

A good friend who was hourly factory techinican/electrician bought a total of 1500 shares while I worked with him in my client's factory in Illinois. He and others had confidence in my judgement. The factory closed and he was without a job while Valence dropped to the 4's and 5's. It was a good portion of his retirement savings. His wife repeatedly insisted that he sell his shares.

I phoned him 2 weeks ago and spoke with his wife. She told me that in spite of her, Bill kept telling her that Fred said to buy Valence and to hang on. He's been all smiles lately and proud of his investment. I even got the impression his wife now thinks I'm ok!

Hearing this and similar feedback from so many at the SM has provided rewards that cannot be measured. I must say that a huge burden has been lifted. As many know, I was too aggressive too soon with margin and options and lost the equivalent two homes as a result of my learning about Valence. There is no one to blame but myself.

What I believe made the difference was that Lev mustered and sustained the energy to step in and get the operation moving in the right direction.

Lev, when you spoke with me from your farm prior to coming back, You asked if there was anything you could do for me. When we at last met on tuesday I forgot the tell you that "YOU HAVE DONE IT". You have my respect and admiration.

My most sincere thanks to Steve S(INVestor), Jim G(Mooter) and to Dr. Cohen whose actions and/or words brought me to tears as I sat at with them at the table.

My best regards to all of you, including Paul K!

Ram: <<<< Lev's decision not to quit this year>>>> I was the one who asked him the question regarding the timing of his departure as CEO and my understanding was that he reserves the right to step down if the company achieves an acceptable level of success and he didn't necessarily concede that time being much different than what he discussed in the November cc. Did any one else get a different reading of his answer? duckster

A couple of points from the SM:

I was impressed with the amount of work and research focused on quality control. Valence developed processes of analyzing all raw materials, and invented a process to analyze film in real time! Any film outside of specs can be recycled. (Now we know how the yields stay so high.) They can also use these tools to reverse engineer competitors products, and have compiled a "folder" on any samples they received. They know who is stepping on patents and will act once they are issued. They also know who has solved which problems, allowing them to estimate their lead in the industry.

They have patents covering the manufacturing process, raw materials, and machinery. If they decide to license, they will receive royalties from the machinery manufacturer, raw materials supplier, and the battery producer. (just to produce 1 battery!)

I was very impressed by the enthusiasm of the entire team. There were 8-10 tour groups of 15 people each asking probing questions. Every question was answered in detail, with a measure of excitement. It's almost like a kid with a secret, they seem to know what is coming.

The cycle testing we saw explained the "surface mount" comments Lev made. They have batteries that have been in a continuous cycle test for 2 years and still meet specs. For the cell phone user this would translate to about 3X, or a six year disposable phone.

Other misc. comments... There were around 185 people in the conference room, 170 of these were shareholders.

Lev comes across much better in person. He can seem arrogant and cold on the conference calls, but he has a great sense of humor. After seeing him, you will interpret the calls differently.

Lastly, you really have to attend the SM meeting to fully understand the potential of this company. I read the comments this year and last, and they don't convey the full appreciation you can gain from attending.

Sorry I didn't get to meet everyone, we arrived just as the meeting started and had to rush out after the tour.
