Let's hope ideas win out over Hero Worship in the primary today...

Neocon, perhaps I need to clarify my position, and some of the things I have said in prior posts. It is true that I hate the sin of homosexuality. The Bible tells me that God, also hates the sin. I do not hate the individual that practices these, what I consider to be, depraved acts, and have prayed that they be delivered from such deviant lifestyles. IMO, even physiologically, it is unnatural, much less morally wrong. I realize some of my posts delivered in the heat of the discussion, and fired off hastily, may have appeared like individual hatred but, that is not my true feeling. I might add, that I do not hate nihil. I do not know him as an individual, so it would be improper to do so but, I do detest, practically, every word of every post he pollutes these threads with. Thank you for hearing me out. It seems ironic that he would missend that post to the, consummate diplomat of the threads. :^)

Thank you Neocon. Good of you to defend haqi. The problem was that we have a psychotic personality on Ask God, whom I urged in good faith to seek psychiatric attention. haqi and some others were willing to jump into the discussion on the side of therapy (I believe). The psychotic was attacking people, saying he had divine foreknowledge that they were damned to hell and that there was nothing they could do about (an extreme brand of predestinationarianism.) I have a toughened theological cuticle and am merely amused by such attacks, but many of his victims on that threads believe religious slogans like "damned to hell" and there was some real hurt over there. Lions were being thrown to the Christians. After sparring with the jerk, I began actually to be concerned about him and his 8 children and everyone around him. I will admit that haqi is not nearly as advanced a case as ElectofGod, but I think his pursuit of me is pathological. Again, it amused me for a while, but he is so ignorant that the quibbling soon lost its charm. I think anyone who despises his fellow creatures as much as he despises homosexuals is seriously ill. I don't buy Freud theory exclusively, but I have some experience of homophobes who turned out at length to be self-hating homosexuals. I think haqu owes it to himself to understand the motivation of his homophobia. It think he would be much happier if he could find out whether he has a New Testament love for everyone, or an Old Testament hatred to the point of killing homosexuals. I think that there is an arguable (if not terribly strong case) that Jesus was a homosexual, or at least a bisexual. This would account for the absence of any words from Jesus denouncing homosexuality, and his affection for young John who supposed that Jesus loved him in a distinctly different way than he loved the other disciples.
I think hatred for homosexuality and homosexuals in a Christian creates intolerable conflicts. The discovery that one is a homosexual after all can destroy some personalities that have been based on persecution of homosexual. Paul's psychological crisis came in the middle of his campaign to ferret out and kill Christians. His complete flip flop on such a serious issue to him, is a sign of mental disturbance. Almost as if in every persecutor of Christians there is a Christian struggling to get out. Any way, I think haqi needs help.
