This alone would be enough for me to not attend this church.

The point I was trying to make in the earlier discussion was that no matter what church we belong to, we must obey the laws of the land. I believe this is what the Lord would have us do.

I don't feel that it's necessary to disect this discussion any further. The people involved understood what was being said. Also I have quite a bit of work to do, and I won't be able to respond. So I hope I have explained myself sufficiently.

James, please check out my reply to Chris on the denominational thing. I didn't make it clear that I was only speaking of those churches I had attended, and would not have been justified to do otherwise. My problems with denominations, have been my problems, and I have always felt that anyone was free to worship wherever, and whenever, they so chose. When I read the "guidelines" of that, or those, groups, they sounded too much like an intention of fomenting unrest, and possible violence. If any church is, truly, a non-profit organization, then, of course, they should not be taxed. In some cases, certain people use this opening to obtain tax-free status dishonestly. That what has contributed to non-religious people trying to claim that all churches have unfair advantage. You and I, know better but, that doesn't do enough to rectify the situation. I guess non-believers are always going to search for something to beat us over the head with.

Good Evening Santiago, I'm sorry I didn't have more time to talk about this earlier. As it is, I'm still working, and just now taking a break.

Considering my statement below, I would like to add that my children are both married. But I would not have wanted them to marry in the "Church" Mr. Harmon spoke of, which started this discussion. Without benefit of the law in the marriage, what would be the legal status of my grandchildren? I think you would agree with me on this issue.

This alone would be enough for me to not attend this church.

Santiago, I have thought about the discussion I was involved in a few days ago, and I have come up with a few points to ponder. I hope you will receive this in the spirit it is being sent. No matter how we try to perceive God, he is still God and we are not. We must forever remember that the original, and still primary sin was to try to become like God in terms of knowledge and understanding. We are to know God, but we can never fully know about him. We are to take on his character, but we cannot approach his majesty. This is both exciting and frustrating. But the promise remains that one day we will be like him and see him as he is. And I feel that there is a great need for the Holy Spirit in the Christian community to let us understand many of these things on a spiritual level. I know that many people tend to shy away from even talking about "Being filled with the Holy Ghost". The fear of this can cause people to shudder with thoughts of chaos and disorder, not only in the church, but also in daily life. We've all heard stories of "Holy Rollers" freaking out, and not too many people would want to be associated with this stereotype. We have enough stereotypes to deal with as it is, as Christians. But, as I'm sure you are aware, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, meekness and temperance.(Galatians 5:22-23) Going nuts and acting like a lunatic is the opposite of this, in my opinion. I think there is a ""Great" need to clarify this. I believe many Christians are missing out on much of what the Lord has for us because of this unfounded fear. I think it's spelled out pretty well in the Word. What would you suggest?
