Jozef, <New article on Tom's web site>

Once again, "The Wise" is yappin' away with more FUD against Intel. I've seen this guy, Van Smith, posting on ZDNet's Talkback Forums, and he's a rabid anti-Intel zealot. And that's not a label I give to just anyone.

And to think that Tom Pabst didn't want to be seen as an anti-Intel zealot himself. Funny how he continues to let that bozo Van Smith write articles on his web site.

RE: <New article on Tom's web site:>

Jozef

From the article:

"...This performance delta will become painfully dramatic against Intel when AMD soon releases Dresden based Athlons with integrated L2 caches (code name 'Thunderbird'), and utilizing DDR SDRAM that fully exploit the Athlons 200 and 266 MHz bus speeds. "

Thunderbird should indeed bring a tremendous improvement in performance, it crossed my mind while reading this that given how the current Athlons have brought AMD back from unprofitability and how Thunderbird is likely to continue that rise to even greater levels maybe AMD should have code named it Phoenix instead. ;)

Thanks,

Epinephrine

New article on Tom's web site:

www7.tomshardware.com;

Joe,

Brutal review of Intel's road map....I am curious as to what you and others on the thread think about it. As favorable as it was to AMD, I was surprised that Tom's did not the explore the possibility that by the time Willamette is out, AMD will have able to put together some good competition.
