"1...George Gilder laid out a model of capacity abundance enabled by optical network technology...

2...Vinod Khosla spoke of impending doom for large, traditional network equipment manufacturers by way of acquisition by start-ups...

3...Clayton Christensen explained how large, incumbent technology companies an advantage in making incremental improvements to an installed base of technology, while start-ups have the edge in advancing disruptive technology that starts out as inferior but eventually catches on and displaces incumbent technology..."

Stephen- Very interesting topics. I wish I could have a copy of the speeches myself. All except GGs. I could do without his because I've been hearing that one for years and years while Cisco moves into being the 2nd largest company(by market cap) in the world.

Personally I am of the strong opinion that number 3 hit the nail on the head. Number 2, I'm curious about what he means? Please let me know if you get copies. Thanks. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS Oh I see you weren't interested in GG either. I think we've all heard that one for years and years. I believe 1996 is when he first started that speech.

I think the next company Gilder embraces is Agilent (A). I'm told it is revolutionary technology. Have you guys studied it yet?

I remain,
