RE: My Portfolio

My impression from the Qualcomm Annual Meeting was:

1) China, for political reasons, is holding up Q development.

2) The Phone Division sale, at 235M, was lower than expected.

3) There is no big "good news" in the immediate future

I just don't see any major upward move on Qualcomm in the near future, while the rest of my portfolio is going ballistic.

I have no tax consequences when I sell the stock because it is in my 401.

I want to double my cash position, because of retirement, and general distrust in this market.

For these reasons, I have used the "Russian Army" approach to Qualcomm and sold my total position out at 125 this morning.

I will keep enough of the proceeds in cash to double my cash position, and put the rest into the market.

I will post what I end up buying over the next few days. it will be mainly increases in companies I now own, with a couple of new ones added.

I have total belief that Qualcomm is a great buy. I just think we are going through a quiet period, and that I can do better elsewhere in the next few months. I will buy back in before the year is out

Folks,

The next time we have a get-together, we've got to make a special point of making sure the lurkers are invited every bit as strongly as the participants. I just read a really nice PM from a lurker who now wishes s/he had attended.

I especially like the lurkers because not one of them has ever posted that my jokes aren't funny. :)
