Well, now that I realize that GWB is not up to your standard of speech etiquette, I certainly have to think twice about voting for him!!!!

How about Molly/ Think she would run?

E, res-<<<In September, 1995, George and Barbara gave six speeches in Asia for a Moonie front, the Women's Federation for World Peace, a group led by Moon's wife. These were all paid appearances, of course. He acknowleges that, though he has refused to divulge how much he has been paid.>>>

Here is the link to the Women's Federation for World Peace.

Now let me see if I understand you correctly. You're saying that anyone who speaks at a gathering of this organization is a shrill for the moonies?

In that case. Don't the moonies own the Washington Times? And if your logic holds, anyone who get's paid to write for the Washington Times is a paid shrill for the moonies. Do you really believe that?

Michael

Excuse me, do you ever source your allegations? I know that the Unification Church is somewhat bizarre; heck, I think the Mormon Church is somewhat bizarre, and I would speak at one of their events. There has been enough back and forth about the recruitment practices of the Unification Church to at least muddy the water. The main thing is that most people in town have come to view the Washington Times as about as respectably distinct from the Church as the Christian Science Monitor is from its sponsor, and therefore supporting a similar venture would not seem strange to Bush; and he would not necessarily think he was supporting the Church to speak at an ancillary organization billed as promoting family values. This is not the same as shilling for Moon. Speaking to Lubavitchers would not constitute an endorsement of Hasidism; having an audience with the Pope would not constitute an endorsement of Catholicism; how much less would speaking for L'Osservatore Romano opening a sister publication, or speaking to an Lubavitcher affiliate billed as promoting Jewish family life. The rest is not worth much argument.....
